Optional from the start.
Usage analytics and diagnostics are separate choices. Both start off. Declining does not prevent you from editing or exporting.
YOUR WORK. YOUR CHOICES.
This guide explains the optional data that helps improve StykAnimate, the data we leave out, and how to stay in control.
Usage analytics and diagnostics are separate choices. Both start off. Declining does not prevent you from editing or exporting.
Routine reports exclude artwork, document text, filenames, paths, keystrokes, screenshots, and clipboard contents.
Use Privacy & diagnostics in Settings or Help to change your choices, review data, export a copy, or request deletion.
Usage analytics help us understand which workflows people use, whether a first animation reaches a successful save, and whether people return to creating. Diagnostics help identify slow operations, memory pressure, and application failures.
Optional reporting relies on your consent. Enable either, both, or neither in the app. Withdrawing consent stops future optional collection for that category and clears its pending reports. It does not automatically erase reports already received; use the deletion control for those.
A random installation identifier connects reports from the same installation. It is not your name or account. Because it can link activity over time, we treat the linked data as pseudonymous, rather than claiming it is anonymous. Your consent choices, their date, and this policy version accompany optional reports.
Checking whether the optional collection service is available…
| Choice | Data | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Usage analytics | Daily session counts; active and idle time; time in Simple/Advanced mode; counts of edits, tools, playback, undo/redo, keyframes, imports, saves, exports, and their outcomes; dates of first launch, edit, save, and export. | Understand activation, returning use, feature adoption, and workflow failures. |
| Diagnostics | Summarized operation timings, frame intervals, buffering, long tasks, sampled memory and rendering statistics, and scene figure/frame/node counts. | Find performance problems by operation, release, and scene complexity. Scene contents are excluded. |
| Diagnostics | Error type, operation, fingerprint, count, occurrence times, and up to five application module names with line numbers; detected crashes, hangs, GPU errors, and unclean starts. | Group failures and locate affected code. Error messages, stack arguments, and full paths are excluded. |
| Either optional choice | Random installation identifier, day and upload sequence, app version/channel, coarse OS version and architecture, RAM/CPU-count categories, GPU vendor category, rendering backend, and consent record. Interface language and editor mode are included only with usage analytics. | Connect daily reports, remove duplicates, interpret compatibility, and honor collection choices. |
| Feedback you submit | Your chosen category, written description, app version, and an installation identifier used to associate and delete your submitted reports. | Investigate your report. Submitting feedback is a separate deliberate action; email the support contact if you need a reply. |
| Local trace you request | A short, detailed performance recording saved to a file on your computer. Traces may contain more detailed runtime information than routine reports. | Help investigate a slowdown. These files are not automatically uploaded; review a file before choosing to share it. |
Frequent operations are combined into counters and timing distributions. Reports are batched, with bounded queues and sampling; there is no continuous recording of your interactions. Measurements describe the installations that chose to participate, not every user.
Routine reporting does not include artwork, project contents, document text, file or folder names, full local paths, clipboard contents, keystrokes, screenshots, screen recordings, raw pointer movements, or raw error messages.
The first version does not automatically upload native crash dumps or performance traces. Feedback is free text, so only include information you intend to send. Do not place sensitive or confidential material in a report.
There is no advertising tracking, cross-site profiling, or sale of this telemetry. Data is used to improve the application and investigate beta feedback.
Linked daily usage summaries and diagnostics are retained for up to 30 days. Submitted feedback is retained for up to 90 days. Expired records are removed by scheduled cleanup. After a deletion request, a hash-only deletion marker is retained for up to 30 days solely to reject delayed uploads that would otherwise recreate deleted reports. It is not used for analytics.
Daily totals that contain no installation identifiers may be retained for up to 365 days. These totals are generated only for groups containing at least five reporting installations. While the linked source data still exists, a deletion request also rebuilds or removes the affected totals. Once linked source data expires, the remaining anonymous totals cannot be connected back to your installation.
The service uses Cloudflare Workers and D1. StykAnimate administers the service and its private dashboard; public website visitors cannot view individual reports. Data may be processed in Cloudflare’s global infrastructure. Cloudflare’s applicable processing terms and safeguards govern its handling as a hosting provider.
Application storage does not keep your raw IP address. Requests necessarily pass through the hosting provider, which receives network metadata to deliver and protect the service. Abuse controls may use a rotating, salted IP-derived value rather than storing the raw address. Infrastructure logs and provider backups are subject to the provider’s retention and deletion mechanisms.
Open Settings → Privacy & diagnostics (Edit → Preferences…) or Help → Privacy & diagnostics in the desktop app. You can review pending reports, export a local copy, turn either category off, and request deletion of data linked to this installation.
Open Privacy & diagnostics in the installed app. This opens only when you choose the link. If nothing happens, open StykAnimate yourself or download the app.
Deletion requires a connection to the service. Keep the app installed until it confirms the request; an offline request is not evidence that the server has deleted anything. Use the panel’s reported result to check completion.
Installation identifiers are specific to the app’s local data. If you remove that data or move to a new computer, the app may no longer have the credentials required to request deletion for the old installation. Contact us with the report or installation identifier you retained, without sending your project.
Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that occurred before withdrawal. It does not affect your ability to use the editor. Locally saved projects and manually exported diagnostic files remain under your control.
The public site does not install analytics cookies, run advertising pixels, load external fonts, or track your motion-study interactions. It fetches release information when you open downloads or release notes, and public service settings on this page.
Cloudflare handles normal network requests to host and secure the site. Downloading an installer from an external release host also contacts that provider; the download link’s destination identifies the host. The private administration area may use authentication cookies that are separate from the public site.
See Cloudflare’s privacy policy for its handling of hosting and network information.
The publisher and data controller is StykAnimate. For privacy questions, access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability, or an objection where applicable, contact ale.ripreso@gmail.com. Include the relevant installation or report identifier if you have it; we may need enough information to verify that a request concerns your data.
You may also raise a concern with your local data protection authority. If the purpose or categories of optional collection change, the policy and in-app notice will be updated and any required new consent will be requested.
