- No accounts, no advertising, no tracking cookies, and we never sell your data.
- Visits are counted anonymously, without cookies, and never at all if your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control.
- We only keep what you choose to send us (feedback, library uploads, votes), plus a few technical details to stop spam.
- The app only sends usage statistics if you turn them on, and you can delete them from the app at any time.
This policy covers stykanimate.com and the online services the StykAnimate app uses. StykAnimate (“we”, “us”) is responsible for this data. Contact: hello@stykanimate.com.
1. Visiting the website
We count visits ourselves, without cookies or third-party analytics. For each page view we record the page, the website you came from (just its domain), your country (from your IP address, worked out by our host) and whether you’re on a phone, tablet or computer. We also count clicks on things like the download button, videos, Discord and Ko-fi.
To count unique visitors, we turn your IP address and browser details into a scrambled code that changes every day and can’t be turned back into your IP address. It’s used only to count today’s visitors and is deleted after a day or two. We don’t store IP addresses in our statistics.
If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, your visits and clicks aren’t counted.
2. Feedback and support
When you send feedback from the website or the app, we store what you write, any files you attach, the app version and your operating system. A name and an email address are optional. We only use your email to reply to you. We never add it to a mailing list or share it.
There are no accounts. Your browser or app keeps a private key that links you to your conversations, and we store only a scrambled version of it. Anyone with your private inbox link can read your conversations, so keep it to yourself.
New messages are also sent as notifications to a private Discord channel that only the developer can see, without your email address.
How long: conversations are deleted 90 days after they’re opened, and attachments after 30 days. You can delete a conversation yourself at any time.
3. Community library
When you upload to the library, we store your file, its preview, the title, description, tags and the creator name you choose. Once approved, these are public: anyone can see and download them. We also keep the original filename and a scrambled code made from your IP address, to stop spam and abuse. These are never shown publicly.
Likes, reports and roadmap votes are linked to a random key saved in your browser, not to you. Reports can include a short note, which only we see.
How long: until you or we delete the item. You can delete your uploads from My uploads. Copies other people have already downloaded can’t be recalled.
4. The desktop app
The app works fully offline and never sends your projects, drawings or files anywhere unless you choose to share them.
- Usage statistics (off unless you turn them on). If you opt in, the app sends daily anonymous statistics: app version, Windows version, rough hardware class (memory, CPU, GPU), which features were used, performance numbers and error codes. They never include your projects, filenames, folder paths or anything you type. They’re linked to a random install ID, not to you. How long: 30 days, then only anonymous totals across at least five installs are kept, for up to a year. You can turn this off or use “Delete my data” in the app at any time.
- Quick feedback from inside the app: your message, an optional email, the app version and platform. How long: 90 days.
- Updates: the Setup version downloads updates from GitHub.
5. What’s saved in your browser
We don’t use cookies. The site saves a few things in your browser’s local storage so it works as you’d expect: your private feedback and library keys, an unsent feedback draft, the name and email you last used in feedback, which items you liked, and whether you closed the announcement bar. This stays on your device. Clearing your browser data removes it (and your access to your conversations and uploads, unless you saved your private links).
6. Other services
We don’t sell or share your data. A few services are involved in running the site:

| YouTube | Video thumbnails load from YouTube’s image servers. Videos only load when you press play, in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode. |
| Discord | Pages ask Discord for the server’s member count, and we get notified about new feedback and uploads in a private channel. |
These services may process your IP address under their own privacy policies. Links to Ko-fi, YouTube and Discord take you to their sites, where their own policies apply.
7. Why we’re allowed to use it
Under the GDPR: to provide what you ask for (answering feedback, publishing your uploads); our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website and understanding how it’s used, in a way that doesn’t identify you; and your consent for the app’s usage statistics.
8. Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, or object to how we use it. Most things you can delete yourself, from your feedback inbox, My uploads, or the app. For anything else, email hello@stykanimate.com. As there are no accounts, include your private link or tell us what you sent, so we can find it. You can also complain to your data protection authority. In Italy that’s the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.
Deleted data can remain in our database backups for up to 30 days before it’s gone for good.
9. Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. Significant changes will be mentioned on the site or in the app’s release notes.
