Terms of use

These terms apply to stykanimate.com and the online services it runs, including the community library, feedback and the roadmap (together, “the site”). StykAnimate (“we”, “us”) runs the site. By using it, you agree to these terms. The desktop app has its own licence agreement, and how we handle data is explained in the privacy policy.

1. Using the site

You can browse the site, download the app, watch tutorials, send feedback, vote on the roadmap and use the library for free. Please don’t:

• attack, overload or try to break into the site, its API or the admin area;
• scrape it, or send automated requests beyond normal use;
• get around upload limits, rate limits, reports or moderation, or fake votes, likes or downloads;
• use the feedback system or library to send spam, advertising or malware;
• pretend to be StykAnimate or someone else.

2. What you upload

This covers everything you send us: library uploads (figures, movieclips, projects, previews, titles and descriptions), feedback messages and attachments.

You keep ownership

You keep all rights to what you upload. To run the library, you give us a free, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to store, copy, display, resize, convert and distribute your uploads on the site and in the app, and to feature them (for example as a staff pick, or in our videos and posts promoting StykAnimate). This licence ends when your item is removed, except for copies already downloaded and backups that are deleted over time.

What other people can do with your library items

Anyone can download your library items and use them in their own animations, including animations they publish or monetise. They can’t re-upload or sell your item itself as their own file, pack or asset. If you don’t want people to use your work this way, don’t upload it to the library.

You’re responsible for it

You promise that you made what you upload, or have permission to share it, and that it doesn’t break these rules or the law.

3. Content rules

Don’t upload or send anything that:

• copies someone else’s work without permission, like figures, movieclips or projects made by other people, or characters and artwork from games, films or other creators that you aren’t allowed to share;
• is sexual, or sexualises minors in any way;
• promotes hate, harassment or violence against real people or groups (fighting stick figures are fine);
• shows real people’s private information;
• is malware, spam, advertising, or a file pretending to be something it isn’t;
• is illegal, or encourages anything illegal.

Every library upload is reviewed before it goes public. We can refuse, edit the title, tags or category of, or remove anything at any time, and block people who repeatedly break the rules. Items reported by several people can be hidden automatically until we review them.

4. Reporting copyright problems

If something on the site uses your work without permission, use the report button on the library item, or email hello@stykanimate.com with a link to the item, what it copies, and why you own it. We’ll take down anything that clearly infringes, usually within a few days.

5. Feedback and ideas

Thank you for your ideas. If you suggest something, we can use it to improve StykAnimate freely, without owing you anything. Feedback conversations are private between you and us. We may quote short, anonymous parts of them (for example, “fixed a crash when exporting GIFs”).

6. Our content

The site’s design, text, animations, demos, videos, logo and the StykAnimate name belong to us. You can link to any page and share our screenshots and trailers when you talk about StykAnimate. Don’t copy the site or its code, or use our name or logo in a way that looks official.

7. No guarantees

The site and its services are free and provided “as is”. We don’t promise that they’ll always be available, or that library items are error-free or safe to use in every way. We can change, pause or shut down any part of the site, including the library and the roadmap, at any time. As far as the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect damage or lost data coming from using the site. Nothing here limits liability that can’t be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.

8. Other websites

The site links to YouTube, Discord, Ko-fi, GitHub and others. They have their own terms, and we aren’t responsible for them. Donations on Ko-fi are voluntary gifts and don’t buy any product, feature or support.

9. General

• These terms are governed by Italian law. If you are a consumer, you keep any protections the law of your own country gives you.
• If a part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies.
• We may update these terms. We’ll change the date at the top, and continuing to use the site means you accept the new version.
