The community library
Find free figures and movieclips shared by other animators, drop them into your scene, keep offline copies, and share your own.
- The community library is full of free figures, effects and moves shared by other animators, checked by a person before they go live.
- Browse it right in the app (Library tab → Community library) or on stykanimate.com/library.
- Made something good? Share yours on the website. It’s free.
You don’t have to draw every character and effect yourself. The community library has free figures, movieclips and whole animations made by other StykAnimate users. This guide shows you how to find something, put it in your scene, keep a copy for later, and share your own work.
Add a community figure to your scene
- Open the Library tab in the right-hand panel and click Community library at its top. You need an internet connection.
- Find something. Cards are grouped by category (Characters, Effects, Moves, Props, Backgrounds…). Type in Search to look by name, category, author or tags, or set Show to Figures or Movieclips.
- Go to the frame where it should appear (a movieclip starts playing from there).
- Drag the card onto the stage, or double-click it to put it in the middle. Ctrl+Z takes it out again in one step.
- Search for “punch”, or set Show to Movieclips.
- Drag a card onto the stage.
- Double-click a card to put it in the middle.
- Open a card’s ⋯ menu and choose Save to My library.
- Go offline (above), then click Try again.
These cards are examples. The real community library grows every day.
Keep a copy that works offline
Inserting puts a copy in this project. To use an asset again later, or without internet, save it into your own library:
- Optional: switch to My library and open the folder you want it in, then switch back.
- Open the card’s ⋯ menu (or right-click it) and choose Save to My library.
- It’s now in My library, ready to use offline.
View on stykanimate.com in the same menu opens the asset’s page, with its description and creator.
Browse on the website
stykanimate.com/library has everything the app has, plus whole projects (the Animations category) you can download, watch and remix. Search, filter by type (Figures, Movieclips, Projects) and sort by Popular, Most liked or Staff picks.
- Open in StykAnimate opens the desktop app’s Community library with that asset selected. It doesn’t change your scene: insert it when you’re ready.
- Download saves the file. Double-click it or drop it on the editor: figures and movieclips are added to the animation you have open, and projects open on their own (save your current work first).
Share your own
- On the library page, click Share yours.
- Add your file: a figure (.stkz), movieclip (.stykmov) or project (.styk). To get a figure file, select it and choose File → Save figure….
- Add a preview. The website can draw one from your file, or you can drop a GIF or MP4 you exported.
- Give it a title, a category, up to 6 tags and the name you want to be credited as. A description is optional.
- Send it. Everything is checked by a person before it goes live. Follow it under My uploads, where you can also delete it any time.
Your uploads are tied to the browser you shared them from. Copy private link in My uploads lets you reach them from anywhere. Keep that link to yourself.
Credit and reporting
- Only share things you made, or that you have permission to share. Each asset shows its creator.
- Everything in the library is free to use in your animations.
- If something is broken, someone else’s work, inappropriate or spam, use Report on its page. Reports are read by a person.
Common questions
It says “Community library is unavailable”.
It needs an internet connection. Check you’re online and click Try again. Things you saved to My library still work offline.
Something is on the website but not in the app.
The app lists figures and movieclips. Whole projects are on the website only: download them and open them as projects. Also clear Search and set Show to All.
An inserted movieclip doesn’t move.
It starts on the frame you inserted it on. Play the animation from there, and see Movieclips for loop and play-once options.
Can I change something I downloaded?
Yes. Insert it, then edit it like your own figures: pose it, recolour it, or open it in the Figure Builder.
Can I upload from inside the app?
Not yet. In the app the community library is for browsing and inserting; share from the website.
