Every default keyboard shortcut in StykAnimate, explained and grouped by what you are doing. Use the explorer to see what each key does, then print the tables as a cheat sheet.
The short version
The keys you’ll use all the time: A add frame, Space play, Ctrl+Z undo, O onion skin, Ctrl+S save.
Press ? in StykAnimate to see (and change) every shortcut. Ctrl+P finds any command by name.
On a Mac, Cmd works wherever it says Ctrl.
Explore the keyboard
Every coloured key does something. Point at a key to read what it does, hold Ctrl, Shift or Alt (on your keyboard, or with the buttons) to see those combinations, or type a command’s name to light up its key. Draw and Build give some letters their own meaning: switch the workspace to see them.
Try itShortcut explorer
Point at a key, hold Ctrl, Shift or Alt, or press keys on your keyboard.
Prints the tables below on their own.
How to read the tables
A + means “hold the first key, then press the next”: Ctrl+Shift+Z is Ctrl and Shift held, then Z.
or means either key works: Delete or Backspace.
The grey line under each table says where the keys work. Some only work when the canvas or the timeline has focus: click it first.
“Hold” keys, like R for Handle Edit, only work while you keep them down during a drag.
A key belongs to a context. Most work everywhere in the editor (“Editor”), but some only work in one place, and those win while you are there:
In Draw, B is the Brush, L Select pixels and M flips the view; the number keys set the brush opacity.
In Build, S splits a segment and B switches the whole branch on and off.
With the Advanced timeline focused, ↑ and ↓ pick the layer above or below; with the canvas focused they nudge the joint under the pointer.
Not working? Click the place the key belongs to (the canvas, the timeline), or switch to its workspace.
Make sure you aren’t typing in a box: letters type text there.
Check Settings → Shortcuts: the key may have been changed.
Coming from Pivot
Pivot’s most-used keys have StykAnimate equivalents: A adds a frame like Pivot’s Add Frame, Space plays, and Ctrl+Z undoes. If you remember a key from Pivot, add it in Settings → Shortcuts.
